Culver City real estate

A small-town feeling within a much larger city.

Living in Culver City

Culver City is its own city, with its own city government and city services, sitting in the middle of the Westside and surrounded by the City of Los Angeles. It has governed itself since 1917, with its own school district and its own police and fire departments.

That is a big part of what draws people here: a small-community feel in a very central location. There are residential neighborhoods, parks, local events and a real downtown, where you can meet friends for dinner, grab coffee or browse the farmers market. There's a movie theater downtown and museums like the Wende Museum and the Museum of Jurassic Technology. At the same time, you're close to the rest of Los Angeles and not far from the beach. It's that combination of neighborhood feel, convenience and location that makes people want to stay.

It also has a rich history. Culver City has long been known as "The Heart of Screenland." MGM made its home here, and The Wizard of Oz was filmed on the MGM lot, which is now Sony Pictures Studios. Today, Amazon Studios is based in Culver City and Apple has offices here, and the city has become a hub for tech and media companies.

What Is My Home Worth?

The homes

Culver City has an eclectic mix of architecture that reflects the different eras in which its neighborhoods were developed. You'll find charming Spanish-style and Traditional homes from the 1920s through the '40s, postwar ranch homes and Mid-Century influences from the '40s through the '60s, along with extensively remodeled and newly built contemporary homes. The style can change quite a bit from one neighborhood to another, which is part of what gives Culver City its character.

Buying or selling in Culver City

I have helped clients buy and sell across Culver City. On one sale, the home closed $225,000 over asking, a good example of what a considered plan can do in this market.
