West Adams & Mid-City real estate

Historic architecture in the middle of Los Angeles.

Living in West Adams & Mid-City

West Adams and Mid-City sit in the middle of Los Angeles, between the Westside and Downtown: east of Culver City and Beverlywood, west of Koreatown and north of View Park and Leimert Park. It isn't one uniform neighborhood, and the character changes from block to block, which is part of its appeal.

Parts of West Adams have a Brooklyn-like feel, with historic homes right down the street from small local businesses. A vibrant restaurant and bar scene along West Adams and Jefferson Boulevard attracts visitors from all across Los Angeles. Public transportation is super easy to reach, with the Metro E Line running toward Downtown in one direction and Culver City, Santa Monica and the Westside in the other.

What Is My Home Worth?

The homes

West Adams has some of the oldest and most architecturally significant residential neighborhoods in Los Angeles, built from the late 1800s through the early 1900s: Craftsman, Spanish Colonial Revival, Colonial Revival and Tudor Revival homes, some of them remarkably large. The city has designated several Historic Preservation Overlay Zones in the area, including West Adams Terrace and Jefferson Park. Mid-City is more varied, with 1920s and '30s Spanish homes, bungalows, duplexes and small multifamily buildings alongside later construction.

Buying or selling in West Adams & Mid-City

This is an area to see street by street rather than judge from a map, because the pocket, and even the individual street, matters. Homes inside a Historic Preservation Overlay Zone also go through design review for exterior changes, which is worth knowing before you plan renovations.

I live in the area and have helped many clients buy and sell here. If you are thinking about selling your home or buying in West Adams or Mid-City, I would love to connect!
